New Jersey Sketchers at the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts

Museum of Early Trades and Crafts

Join us for a day of sketching at the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts. The museum is in the James Library Building. Built in 1899, this is a fine example of Richardsonian Romanesque Revival architecture.

On display are many of the tools of the trade used by a distiller, cabinetmaker, shoemaker, printer, and a blacksmith. These exhibits illustrate the working lives of several local 19th century tradespeople whose surnames are still familiar in Madison and the local area today.
