Weekday Urban Sketchers at the Chaim Gross Foundation

Located in an historic town house just off Washington Square Park, the Chaim Gross Foundation occupies the studio and home of this iconic mid-century sculptor.   In addition to having access to his workshop and studio we will be able to visit his apartment and the exhibition spaces to sketch and view his  art collection and incredible collection of African artifacts.  As is/was typical of aspiring artists, they traded and gifted their work to friends.  Years later they are now treasured works of art by extremely well know (and not so well known) mid-century artists.  Visit the foundation's web site for additional background material:

We will have access to the Foundation until 1 PM. Weather permitting (and it looks like a nice day is in the offing) we can break for lunch in Washington Square Park and spend the afternoon sketching the arch, the performers and the people who populate the park.
