Weekday Urban Sketchers Explore Color and Form At Central Synagogue and MOMA on WEDNESDAY
With a theme of Color and Form we will meet at the Central Synagogue on Lexington Ave at 55th St. and then participate in a free workshop associated with MOMA's exhibit of the Matisse Cut-Outs.
Central Synagogue is a beautiful Moorish Style building that is a riot of color and shapes. Renovated after a fire a number of years ago the sanctuary has been decorated in the Eastern Style with every surface lavishly decorated and colored. Beautiful stained glass windows echo the designs on the walls, columns and carpets. We will then continue our quest for color and form at MOMA for the afternoon free workshop entitled Beyond the Cut-Out that is held in conjunction with the Matisse Cutout Exhibit.
PLEASE NOTE DIFFERENT LOCATION AND TIMES!!
Note: Since we are meeting latter than usual and won't break for lunch please have lunch before meeting the group. Food is not allowed in the sanctuary.
